Counting the beat….
What a busy few months it has been.
We had three of the kids living with us since September, but they’ve finally rented their own 3brm place together, all have jobs, and are back to making their way in the world independently once again.
Another son has come home to stay since then (we had almost a whole two weeks with the house to ourselves lol), and our daughter, grandson and their 8wk old puppy Harry have been for a visit too – so we’re feeling a bit overloaded with “visitor-stress” at the moment.
Being a parent doesn’t ever end, no matter how old you are, or how old your kids are, or how tired you become – parenting just so happens to be one of the only lifetime jobs!
It isn’t always easy, and it isn’t always rewarding – but we’ve done (& will continue to do) the best that we can, with the tools we’ve got. Hopefully, it’s enough!
We are very much looking forward to escaping to ‘Te Wahi Kotiro’ very very soon – so it probably won’t be until then, that we get a chance to catch up with the blogging a bit more.
It’s been a rough start to the year for us, with one thing and another – and the stress of it has knocked us about quite a bit.
There’s been time off work because of it – which is never a good thing and just adds to the stressors, there been illness, and there has been rough times for a couple of the kids too.
We’ll get through it though!
We have each other at the end of each and every day, and we’re always just a call away if one of us needs the other, or is just having a bad day. And we both feel so very very blessed to have this…
