The tap runneth over.
TaaaaaDaaaaaa Another exciting Monday was cast upon us – with Justin and Danny (the Electrician & Plumber) having been out at Strigidae with all manner of diggers, trucks and such – and when we went out on Monday evening after work, the power and water pipes had all been run to the corner of the shed, and with the turn of a stop-cock – water was happily flowing….!!! Wheeeeeeheeeeee! The boys had also put a huge big mound of soil over in the corner for us, ready to use in the raised gardens we have waiting for just such an event. The soil was left over from digging the trenches…

Weed-whacking & Plan #84
Saturday saw us down at Bunnings, picking up our new loo and bathroom sink, as well as a few other ‘essential’ items – and then it was off to the farm for a bit of a working bee. The slasher man has been and mown earlier in the week, but obviously couldn’t follow boundary-line directions, as only 2/3 of the farm got slashed. Twit! 😡 Now we’re going to have to get back onto him to get the rest of it done, before its all growing at different lengths, and becomes too hard for us to manage again! A beautiful day had been turned on for us, with a nice…

The Wobbles
If anyone happens to have read my angsty little grumble the other day about how much I have ahead of me to do, and was a bit worried or was thinking it unfair that I had so much to do ‘by myself’ – well DONT!! We all have days now and then when we feel overwhelmed – days when we feel a little wobbly… Whether it’s because its an overcast day, we’re ‘hormonal’, we’ve had a shit day at work, or maybe its just because the cat puked on your favorite pair of pants(!!) – we all get to feeling that way sometime or other… I do however want to…

Mid week visits.
And then THIS happened…. Yesterday afternoon we took a trip out to the Farm, to have a look at how the floor had cleaned up. We’d also scored a bargain of a whole pile of ceramic pots of various sizes – at $20 for them all, so the back of the truck was full of them, and they needed to be dropped off – as nothing else could go in the truck, until they were out. There were a LOT! As we went to pull into our driveway – there was a glorious sight to behold. Pretty sure we heard a chorus of angel singing and harps being strummed actually! Justin…

Productive Monday
Today has been a nicely productive day. 1) The soil-tester folks went out and did the testing today – a day earlier than expected (!!) which means we are a step closer to knowing what options we will have in front of us regarding a septic system. 2) Very informative talks were had with Terry from “ShedBoss“, who took some much appreciated time out of his day, to impart some really good info, knowledge and how-to advice with regards to retro-fitting the insulation on the roof and walls of the shed, and also gave us info on new-builds – in case we do decide to go that route in the future. A huge shout-out…

The best laid plans…
Another weekend has come and gone – and whilst we didn’t quite achieve what we had initially hoped to – we did get a decent bit of work done out at the Farm. We’d hired one of those floor-scrubber thingys, so on Sunday morning we packed up the truck with that on board, plus the generator for power, plus an extra hose in case our neighbour Michaels garden hose wasn’t long enough to reach inside the shed, coffee, toilet paper, a couple of chairs, and the huge big extendable ladder – and off we went! On arrival – we unloaded and discussed a plan of action. First things first –…

A clean-up up-cycle win.
We’ve hired a floor-scrubber thingy from Saturday pm to Monday am, so this afternoon we went out to the Farm to tidy up a bit and remove the majority of the stuff we’re currently storing in the shed, in readiness for hopefully getting a good bit of the floor scrubbed clean tomorrow. We inherited some ‘stuff’ when we bought the Farm, and as explained in an earlier post – some of that stuff had to do with old flooring scraps and display racks. We have three carpet display racks, and after pondering them for a while today, decided that if we could flip them upside down, we could probably hang…

Skipping with joy.
Happiness is: the delivery of a skip-bin to our house. We finally sold one of the cars yesterday (tho it was a bit sad to see our soft-top baby go), so last night we emailed our buddy Gavin to drop off a bin when he was next in town – now that we have somewhere to actually put it. And our man Gavin always delivers promptly :)) Let the decluttering, downsizing, and rubbish-tossing BEGIN!!! Wheeeheeee!!!!

The Cat is outta the Bag!
Its one of the coolest morning we have had this winter, and its just rolling into the most gorgeous day! Everything is crisp, and the sun is shining, and everything just looks beautiful out in the world this morning. Last weekend, we were going to go out and mow on Sunday, but as luck would have it, the weather came in so mowing wasn’t going to be a possibility. As such – we ended up doing a trip to Auto-Pro for some degreaser stuff, which we wanted to try out on the shed floor, as it has quite a lot of old grease marks on it – which we really…
